Hello, I’m Bianca Banur Gidner. I wanted to talk about the war between Armenia & Azerbaijan. In my opinion, I feel like this war shouldn’t be happening and that Armenia is taking it too far. Armenia has been getting their kids to burn flags, and talk bad about the opposite side. I won’t be talking bad but, I want everyone to know what Armenia is doing. Armenia is standing against the Azerbaijan border, throwing stuff and saying harsh words. Plus, while they’re making videos of burning flag’s they add, also the brother flags such as Turkey. When Armenia gets young kids involved, they might not even know what is going on and probably forced. Overall, what I’ve seen that Armenia is taking it too far and getting multiple children involved and burning flags. Azerbaijan is my mom’s home country so, I will respect Azerbaijan for the rest of my life and not stand Armenia. If Armenia wants to think they’re powerful burning flags and getting children to also, step on flags and burn them shows that they’re childish. On multiple news websites it states, “While Europe and the rest of the world are trying to cope with the coronavirus and searching for ways to re-energize their pandemic-affected economies, fighting broke out on 12 July on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan”. Corona has been going around everywhere and hasn’t cooled down. If the war continues, multiple people will get sick and both countries will spread more germs and bacteria, leading to Corona. The news also states, “The EU has urged both sides to stop the armed confrontation, refrain from action and rhetoric that provoke tension, and undertake immediate measures to prevent further escalation.”. Since the EU is telling both countries to stop, Armenia shouldn’t be burning flags or saying harsh words on the internet. Since, most of this war blew up in mid-July, over 30,000 infection cases and more than 500 deaths. It states that Armenians aren’t allowed in the Azerbaijan territory so, why crowd the border and throw stuff? In 1994, this has happened before. A war between Armenia & Azerbaijan and didn’t end well. Doing this again plus with Corona going around will 100% not end well either. Armenia has confirmed five of their soldiers killed, and Azerbaijan has confirmed 11 of their soldiers killed. A big difference in the number of deaths. Also, Armenia has been celebrating to the loss of Azerbaijan and cheering, if Armenia does celebrate and posts disrespectful stuff on the internet, Azerbaijan can easily do the same too it will just make everything worse.
“Around the world, on July 19, about 500 Armenians from around France congregated in Paris to protest in front of the Azerbaijani embassy.” states an article. Armenia is gathering other Armenians to protest in other countries which, leads to more people in other countries to pick a side and join the war. In conclusion, I honestly know that Armenia should stop celebrating or posting harsh stuff on the internet or getting even children ages 4-9 to join in and burn/step on flags. In my opinion, if Armenia burns the Turkish and Azerbaijani flags, it proves that they are children and do not look strong and powerful. We are all human, let’s not treat each other differently. As a child, at the age of 13, I do not say anything bad, I express my opinion. It is wrong for children to express their thoughts and feelings, but it is disrespectful and wrong for children to raise a flag and smile. If you want to be strong, and show that you are strong, grow, and use words, you should never burn flags. Armenia will hold protests in various countries. I am American, myself, and I’m speaking for America and stating my opinion showing that it is wrong. I have seen many Armenians protest in different countries, and kill and attack them if they disagree. If Armenia wants to have a bigger side, the attitude towards other countries will increase the countries’ hatred of Armenia. It is not right to go to other countries and burn flags. I know the history of Azerbaijan & I know about the war that happened in 1994 that is similar to what is going on right now and in my opinion, everything that is going on is wrong. 20% of the land of Azerbaijan is filled with Armenians and yet they still go to the border and throw stuff & harm them. They should be respecting and defending the country they live in, not harming the country. Thank you for reading.
